Luke Stockton is a native of Prunedale, CA. At the age of sixteen, he began taking ballet and jazz at a local dance studio Jeanne Robinson Dance Arts. After high school, he continued his education and training at Monterey Peninsula College. Upon completing his Associate's Degree, he was accepted into the dance program at California State University, Long Beach. Over his three years at CSULB, he had the honor to work with many instructors & choreographers such as: Sophie Monat (Monat Dance), Andrew Vaca (Jazzworks), Lorin Johnson (Body Current Dance), Stephen Koester (University of Utah), Maria de la Palme (Motion Tribe), Frank Chavez (River North Chicago) & Shawn Stevens (Twyla Tharp Company). During his years in Southern California, he worked at Disneyland as a parade performer as well as a company member in contemporary ballet company Body Current Dance.
Luke received his Bachelor of Arts in Dance 2009. Soon after college, he toured internationally with both Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines as a production dancer. Returning to land, Luke relocated to Miami, FL. Booking his first job in Miami, he had the privilege to perform in the Ziff Ballet Opera House at the Adrienne Arsht Center in the off-broadway Miami version of The Donkey Show: A Midsummer Night's Disco choreographed by Rosie Herrera.
Thereafter, Luke auditioned for Dance NOW! Miami and has been a company member since 2012. He became the first recipient of the John Beadel Fellowship for the 2013-2014 season. During the 2013-2014 season, he performed The Light Rain Pas de Deux choreographed by the founder of the Joffrey Ballet Gerald Arvpino. Luke has also had the privilege to work with Carolyn Dorfman and perform her work of Odisea. This past season he traveled with his directors to be an assistant at Stockton University in New Jersey for a two-week residency. Luke has also performed at prestigious dance conferences such as Dance USA, Spring To Dance and the Florida Dance Education Organization Conference.
Outside of the company, you may find him guesting with Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida or working with Kevin Black Productions as both a choreographer and dancer. In 2015, he co-founded Talton Arts, a performing arts company dedicated to teaching quality dance and mentoring talented artists.
