Faculty: Ashley Marinelli - February 23, Laurel MD

Contemporary Master Class

Ashley is an award winning performer, choreographer, director, and filmmaker who is based in NYC. She is the Artistic Director of Marinelli New Dance Theater, the Assistant Artistic Director of Denman Theatre & Dance Co. and the founder of Marinelli Moving Pictures (a film production company). She teaches workshops nationally and internationally, working with Groove Dance Competition, Impact Dance Adjudicators and Liberate Artists. Ashley also hosts a pop up class series for professional dancers in New York called “Storytelling through Contemporary Movement”. She is a proud graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and of the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria.​​As a performer, Ashley splits her time between the concert, commercial and musical theater worlds. She has performed with Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Ne-Yo, Lady Sovereign and Shakira and has worked on campaigns for X-Box, Wii, Rite Aid, Bloomingdale's, Shoemania, Bose Headphones, Ray Ban and Cirque du Soleil. Ashley has danced works by Susan Marshall, Jill Johnson, William Forsythe, and has trod the boards for An American in Paris (Ogunquit Playhouse), Newsies (Tuacahn Center for the Arts) Shrek (Tuacahn Center for the Arts), Mama Mia (Tuacahn Center for the Arts), West Side Story (The Engeman Theater), West Side Story (Ogunquit Playhouse), Mary Poppins (Gateway Playhouse), Mary Poppins (Ogunquit Playhouse), A Funny Thing...Forum (Totem Pole Playhouse), A Funny Thing...Forum (Shakespeare Theatre Co. , Helen Hayes Nominee), White Christmas (Fulton Theater), Petrouchka (NYMF), The Klezmer Nutcracker (Vital Theater Company), Puck’d: What Fools These Mortals Be (Broadway Workshop) and Toy Story the Musical, The Golden Mickeys, and Disney Dreams, with Disney Cruise Line.Choreographic credits include special events for the Walt Disney Company, Dorothy Parker : The Musical (The Producer's Club), Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, An American in Paris (Ogunquit Playhouse), Newsies (Tuacahn Center for the Arts), How Did We Get Here? : The Story of The Donner Party (Denman Theatre & Dance Co.), Fairy Tale Christmas (Hafen Theater), West Side Story (Ogunquit Playhouse), West Side Story (John W. Engeman Theater), Toast (Barrington Playwright’s Project) and numerous concert dance and benefit presentations. She is currently on the roster of dance competition judges with Impact Dance Adjudicators.
